Minimally Invasive and Non-Invasive Fractionated Radio-Frequency Technology for the Face and Neck
Not ready for the expense and downtime of a facelift? Then bipolar radio-frequency may be what you have been looking for!
Our office utilizes InMode’s FaceTite and Morpheus8 devices. The FaceTite will give a result that is approximately 30-40% of a facelift, but without all of the healing time and incisions. At the same time, unlike a facelift, FaceTite will cause the tissue to tighten and continue to do so over 6-12 months. FaceTite is minimally invasive. The device is inserted through 1mm punctures in discreet places around the neck and face. The applicator emits radio-frequency energy that melts fat and tightens the fibers of the fibro septal network in the skin. Excess submental (under the jawline) fat can also be removed with light liposuction. This procedure is relatively painless. The patient can have a mild oral sedative and nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) if needed. Most patients report only mild pain at the beginning of the procedure when the local anesthetic is first administered. The downtime is also minimal. There will be some redness, swelling and perhaps bruising in the treated areas which may last a week or two. The patient will need to wear a compression chin strap for a few days and then only at night for two weeks. Patients report vey little pain following this procedure.
Morpheus8 is a non-invasive modality that utilizes radio-frequency. This device delivers energy through a matrix of microneedles. This is different than traditional “microneedling,” as the needles can be adjusted to depths of 0.5 to 4 millimeters depending on the treatment areas. (Most microneedling only goes a quarter of a millimeter deep.) Most importantly, as the Morpheus8 needles enter the skin, the radio-frequency energy is emitted, which can also be adjusted to the needs of the patient. This energy stimulates collagen production to renew the superficial and deeper layers of the skin. Three treatments 4- 6 weeks apart are usually recommended for best results and, like FaceTite, those results will become more noticeable over the following months. Downtime is minimal, with some redness and micro lesions seen for a few days. The patient will apply antibacterial ointment for two days; then moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup can be applied beginning the third day.
Both of these modalities can be combined in a process called EmbraceRF. The patient will have the FaceTite procedure done in conjunction with the first of three Morpheus8 treatments. The combined powerful technologies will diminish fat, contract skin and improve skin texture and complexion.
